INTRODUCTION
In the fourth post of the “Meet our Team” series, we will introduce Matheus, Blog Manager and Personal Coach at DreamanDo! Read further to learn more about his journey and exciting background information about the future of this Blog!
Hi Math, nice to see you on the other side of the Blog, not writing articles and doing editing but being the main subject of our interview! Can you tell us something about yourself and what you do within DreamanDo?
I was born in Brazil and lived there for 17 years before I decided to go study abroad. My dad had just been transferred to work in the USA and I decided to move in with him. I went to Austin, Texas, where I attended Texas State University and graduated with my Bachelor’s in Mass Communication in 2021. By then, my fiancé and I decided that we wanted to move to France so that she could study her college. In 2022, we moved out of the USA and went to Vietnam, where we stayed/worked for 7 months before coming to Paris.
Here in the company, I manage the blog, as well as consult for people who want to study abroad and/or study conversational English!
How did you join DreamanDo?
After 3 months unemployed in Paris, I found DreamanDo’s LinkedIn account and decided to message them after seeing the type of services they provide!
It was nothing but a perfect alignment of values between me, Ciro, and the company!
What are the things that you love about DreamanDo?
I love the internationality of DreamanDo! It is refreshing to be surrounded by some many people from so many different backgrounds and origins! I think that the fuel for a good-working team is diversity and difference as the different knowledges and experiences come together for a greater good.
What do you aim to achieve within the company?
I am looking to create a lot of values for our customers, as well as being part of the workforce that will help the company launch off like a rocket!
I want to make sure that our clients feel safe and trusting on us, as I know that moving abroad can be a scary step to take in one’s life.
Do you have some exciting plans for the Blog that you can share with us?
What I can say is that the blog is going under constant maintenance, as we work in the background to make it more attractive for our targeted audience.
It is hard to create continuous content and shoving information into people’s head is not our intent. The is blog is, by this matter, becoming more personal and more engaging! We are making sure to work alongside our social media platforms to generate a quality omnichannel that will serve anyone who has ever had any questions about moving and living abroad!
What about any advice for people wanting to study/work abroad?
Plan ahead. Nothing can be done well if there is no planning involved. I learned this the hardest way and it cannot be overlooked! Research about the cost of living (rent, schooling, groceries, bank accounts…), about the public transportation, about how to use your health insurance, and so on…
Moving and studying abroad is not a spontaneous adventure, but rather a change in one’s life that surely will affect one’s future. The way it does is up to you and up to how much planning you put into your research and preparation!
